Henkel offers a wide range of different consumer adhesives for a broad range of bonding tasks. All these different tasks pose some specific challenges where the adhesive packaging can support the user. For example you may want to repair your favourite shoe, glue the broken handle of a porcelain cup or repair a broken toy. Applications like these typically require very precise application of single drops only. Usually, either liquid or gel-like superglues are used for such tasks.
However, other kinds of adhesive might need to be applied on larger surfaces. Construction adhesives for bonding of wood panels or hanging shelves to a wall can be taken as an example. Applying paste for wallpaper hanging might be another. Although surfaces might be large, always keep in mind that these tasks still require precise work and dosage.

2-Component-Adhesives & Mixing
Packaging in this category should be designed for 2 component products - consisting of two chemical components or one component that needs to be mixed with water. Designs in this category are required to address solutions for the containing and mixing of the two components before or while the application of the mixed adhesive.
Many adhesive solutions consist of two chemical components that react and harden quickly once they are mixed. The two components need to be packed separately and mixed right before the application. Technologies include Epoxies where an epoxy resin and a hardener are mixed for example through a two-chamber-syringe with a disposable static mixer
Yet, a product does not always need two chemical components. In some cases the second component is simply water. In the case of wallpaper paste, a powder or granulate is mixed with water and stirred until it forms into a thick and even paste.
In the given adhesive examples, the challenge is to measure exactly the required amounts of the two components and to mix them thoroughly. For the user, this should be as easy and convenient as possible.
Opening and Closure
This category is about opening and closing of an adhesive packaging. While being convenient and easy to use, packaging in this category needs to allow the storage and reuse of the adhesives.
